{Video Game Review} - Super Smash Bros. 4 for 3DS

This game is what made me stay up until midnight, only to have me cry myself to sleep because the eShop kept crashing and wouldn't let me download it. It was so disappointing.

Super Smash Brothers 4, also known as SSB4 or SM4SH as I and many like to call it, is a fun and diverse game that has many options and ways to play. You can complete the challenges, play around in the stadium, fight against foes and friends, buy some trophies or take ten minutes out of your time to play some Smash Run. I've only had this game for a week, and I'm STILL unlocking things that expand the gameplay.

The roster for this game has never been this full of energy before. With over 40 characters to choose from, you will be having a main within seconds. Of course there are some classics, such as Mario, Bowser, and others from classic series. However, we do have some newcomers, such as Mega Man, Pac-Man, Bowser Jr, and several more. Characters, even the returning ones, have been said to have been 'made from scratch' to allow them to be the most balanced. And to tell the truth, all of the characters are balanced. Not one feels too overpowered than the other, which is just right for a fighting game like Smash Brothers.

Other than Smash, there are a lot of other modes that you can play. There is always Classic Mode, where you play against characters under certain circumstances (ex. A Metal Lucario, or you and Meta Knight vs. Giant Rosalina, etc.) until you get to Master Hand. Or, if you're a little cocky, you could fight his supposed brother Crazy Hand. There's the Stadium, where you can go against Mii's in 10-Man, 100-Man, Rival, Cruel, 3-Minute, or Endless Smashes, play Target Blast, or play the good ol' Home Run Contest, which DRIVES ME INSANE because I can't get one achievement *rant rant rant rant*...Another mode is All-Star, a mode where you go against fighters in the year that they were created. The catch? You only have ONE LIFE. Oh, don't worry-- you're available four healing items before each time period. Don't use them all at one time!

Another big feature/selling point for SSB4 on the 3DS exclusively is Smash Run, a mode where you run and defeat enemies from the fighters' franchises for five minutes. You collect power-ups to increase your speed, defense, etc. when you defeat them. Then, you go on to do challenges with your opponents (who have been also collecting power-ups) such as a Race, Climb, Matches and other types of matches. This mode is really fun, and allows you to collect equipment and powers that increase the danger of your fighter.

You think that's all to Super Smash Brothers 4 for the 3DS? Well I can't spoil everything! This game might have some flaws, but it's definitely a game that keep you locked in, even past the release of SSB4 for the Wii U.

{Rating: Loved It!}
